Each of the of Isuzu Philippines Corporation three passenger vehicles topped its class in the just concluded Petron Xtra Unleaded 2006 Auto
Focus Automobile & Motorcycle of the Year - People's Choice Awards. Auto Focus is a weekly motoring TV program hosted by respected
motoring broadcast and print journalist Butch Gamboa.
On its second year, the contest aims to find out which among locally available motor vehicles are the most preferred by the buying public. This
year, at The Fort Global City in Taguig most of the competing vehicles were displayed during three full weekends. Visitors saw every vehicle up
close and cast their votes for the various categories. The public, in the other hand, voted thru either one of the following: SMS text messaging,
Auto Focus Web site and on-site balloting.
What makes “The People’s Choice Awards” special is how the public gets to choose the winners. The votes are customer based, thereby
winners are ultimately confirmed to be the best-selling and therefore the most trusted products in the local auto industry.
In this year's People’s Choice Awards, Isuzu vehicles topped all categories they were nominated in. The D-MAX is Pickup of the Year, with the
Toyota Hilux as runner-up. The Alterra was declared Large SUV of the Year, with the Mitsubishi Pajero as runner-up. And the Crosswind-the
biggest winner of all-was proclaimed AUV of the Year, and won the overall Automobile of the Year - People's Choice Awards!
This is the second time that the Isuzu Crosswind and Isuzu Dmax won in their respective categories. Because of their affordability, powerful
and fuel-efficient diesel engines, value-for-money features, reliability and professional after-sales service, Isuzu vehicles are a popular choice
with the image and price conscious Filipino car buyers.
